Why N-OS became Desktop Story
On 31 May 2026, a community poll helped settle the name of my next game: N-OS: Desktop Story. N-OS was the name of the system and its world. Desktop Story described how I wanted people to discover what happened there. Together, the two parts gave the project a setting and a way of telling its story.
Applications, messages, files, windows and strange system events were how that story unfolded. I liked the idea of an ordinary-looking desktop gradually becoming something more. The title needed to suggest that experience without explaining the plot. A list of computer features would have described the objects on screen, but missed why they were there.
N-OS was also a prequel in the Neuro Clicker series. The series connection gave it a place beside my earlier game; Desktop Story gave it an identity of its own. Choosing the name made me put the idea into words that somebody outside the project could understand. When explaining an interface-heavy game, the useful question is not only what the player can click, but what those interactions let them discover.
